What is Apple DOS Compatibility Card?

These are the complete set of driver disks that were included with the Apple DOS Compatibility Card ("Houdini II") These disks were imaged with DiskCopy inside Mac OS 9.2.2.

What's included in the package:

  • Display Driver Disk 1 & 2 for the compatibility card's on-board graphics chip
  • DOS Compatibility software for Mac (PC Setup version 1.0.3) and DOS respectively. These are the drivers for mouse, CD-ROM etc.
  • The Apple-branded SoundBlaster 16 driver disk for the SB16 daughterboard. 
  • MS-DOS 6.22, 3 disks that were bundled together with the Compatibility Card. I assume this is a "special" version.

Included in the archive are pictures of the disks.

Regarding compatibility

These disks are the original  disks that came with the card. For compatibility in Mac OS 8 and later, PC Setup 2.1.7  must be installed.
