What is pcSetup 2.1.7 for Apple PC Compatibility Card? PC Setup 2.1.7 allows owners of Apple and Reply DOS and PC Compatibility cards to continue using their cards with Mac OS 8.5, 8.6, 9.0, 9.1 and 9.2 (previous versions of PC Setup 1.6.4 are incompatible with those versions of the operating system). It does not support Mac OS X. The product allows Macintosh users to run DOS-based Windows operating systems (Windows 95 and 98) and software programs by interfacing with PC Compatibility cards. It allows shared use of the Macintosh hardware, including sound, monitor, keyboard, mouse, CD-ROM, hard disk, ethernet, and printers pcSetup 2.1.7 has a software interface that is installed separately on both operating systems, and allows a user to switch between operating systems, set up shared hard disk space, and even enables transfer of clipboard data. pc Setup 2.1.7 adds long file name support to CD-ROMS (32 bit drivers) and continues to support sharing networking using the PC Setup 1.6.4 networking components.
