An interactive multimedia program for primary students, "Michio Teaches Japanese" is recommended for kids at Level 1; Level 2; or Beginning Language stage of the National Profiles and Victorian Cirriculum and Standards Framework for Languages Other than English (LOTE). No prior knowledge of Japanese is required.
"Michio Teaches Japanese" features:
- an authentic Japanese speaking, young cartoon character, who shares his world,. language and muisic with kids throughout the program
- dynamic introductory sequences and favourite games that bridge both age and cultural gaps
- guidance and encouragement from Michio, in Japenese, as kids explore the program
- a simple, consistent user interface that kids understand intuitively
- 3 levels of difficulty to absorb kids at different stages of learning
- the option to play against the computer, or with a friend
- the option to revise and extend language, literacy and computer skills, individually, or with a parent or tutor
- fully illustrated, audio-dictionary to support each activity
