System 7, 8 and 9 TCP/IP machosts format

In System Folder > Control Panels > TCP/IP you will notice that you can set a hosts file (top/right button).

That file is just a text file containing DNS entries so that your computer doesn't have to resolve them and/or you can force what IP they resolve to.  The format is slightly different from nowadays hosts files...
