What is Backdrop?

Backdrop is a public domain utility created by Tim Maroney. After placing it and a "Screens" folder into your system folder, It will use any 1-bit PICT or MacPaint files as a background placed in the folder.

You can create your own backgrounds by creating a 1-bit black & white bitmap file, then converting it to a MacPaint File. Programs like GIFConverter and GraphicConverter work well, but as long as it's a MacPaint file, it will work.
