What is Bluetooth Firmware Update v1.2 for PPC Macs (10.4 and 10.5)? To connect PPC Macs (G3-G5) to newer bluetooth devices, including bluetooth headphones, speakers, and headsets, you may find the connection refuses after a succesful setup, even if you adjust the serial port settings. The device might be listed and recognized, but refuses to connect as an audio output. Apple recommends PPC users on OSX Tiger 10.4 and newer who are experiencing bluetooth playback issues, install the firmware update to improve automatic connection, compatibility, and stability. System Requirements From Mac OS 10.4 up to Mac OS 10.5 Compatibility notes Tested on PowerBook G4 12" (1.5Ghz) running Tiger 10.4.11 and Leopard 10.5.8 , using AirPods Max headphones (usb-c) , and various other bluetooth devices (mouse, remotes, speakers). Bluetooth is way more reliable now and automatically connects most of the time.
