This is a dump from a quite unique Xserve 2009 which had a brand new logic board that was still sealed in the packaging before I installed it in a working Xserve chassis.
which means this xserve is factory fresh, the firmware has not been personalised or made machine specific yet, all personal data is currently blank/unset and would need to be set by blank board serialiser.
which means a dump of this as it is is probably quite valuable to certain people who specialise in uefi firmwares on legacy macs.
I booted Mac OS 10.11 El Capitan and then used DosDude1's Romtool to dump the zipped bin file attached here.
This Bin file is a factory condition Xserve 2009 Rom, no upgrades or updates have been done, no serial number has been set with Blank Board Serialiser, no SON or other unique data or configuration, is included in this rom dump.
As I understand it this could be important to Xserve 2009 owners so before I did anything with this machine, I decided to dump this firmware and make sure that it was never lost.
At the very least, it presents the possibility of a clean firmware dump for those with the knowhow to do more with the Xserve3,1 (2009).
for the tech heads, no SSN, SON or HWC has been set, as I understand it the Apple "Blank Board Serialiser" Software tool sets these values.
as I understand it, these are the things that make a mac unique, so this dump is as close to a factory dump as we're going to get in 2025.

Compatibility notes
This is only for Xserve 2009 (xserve3,1), and only for those who know what they're doing with it.
Do not casually play around with firmware flashing, bricking your mac is not worth it.
Emulating this? It could probably run under:
