What is MacLynx 2.7.1b1?

MacLynx is a port of a text-only Web browser to the Macintosh. Even though some of its roots are carried over from UNIX — a lot of preferences need to be set by editing config files with a text editor — it has a number of Mac-specific features added, like support for InternetConfig and PlainTalk. And, because it is text-only it is much faster than other browsers, which is crucial on 68K Macs. Unfortunately, it does not support HTTPS, which is a problem for every browser that runs on Mac OS 9 or earlier.
