What is SMS Plus 0.9.9a?

SMS+/MacOS is a Sega Master System and Sega Game Gear emulator for the Macintosh.

The hardware for the Sega Master System and Game Gear consoles is almost identical from a technical standpoint, which means that when you emulate one, it is trivial to emulate the other. SMS Plus features accurate emulation of both systems, with full sound support. Just like most of the other emulators on this site, it can use GZ compressed ROMs transparently. Additional video modes can be added to this emulator via my Blitter Library plugin.

SMS Plus was developed originally by Charles MacDonald.

Compatibility notes

Architecture: PPC

Version 0.9.9 requires CarbonLib 1.2 or later, or Mac OS X.
Version 1.0.3 requires Mac OS X 10.1 or later.
Starting with version 1.0.4, it requires Mac OS X 10.2 or later.
- Quartz Extreme compatible AGP graphics card recommended.
Starting with version 1.2.2, it requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
