Excavator is a simple one player game whose objective is to remove as many blocks from the board.
Excavator is easy to learn. After starting the game by selecing New Game from the File menu, you simply click on any block on the game board. All adjacent blocks of the same color are highlighted and the display is updated to tell you how much that selection is worth. Clicking on any of the selected blocks removes them from the board and the board is compressed.
Compression first happens vertically by moving blocks down if there are any empty spaces in any column. If there any empty columns, the columns to the right of that column are moved to the left. The end of the game will always have blocks in the lower left corner of the board.
