Adventures in Odyssey is an Evangelical Christian-themed radio drama/comedy series which has been running since 1987 and which has spawned three computer games - this one, Adventures in Odyssey and the Sword of the Spirit and Adventures in Odyssey and the Great Escape.
The world for both the drama series and the games id the small town of Odyssey and in this game the three main characters are John "Whit" Whitaker, Eugene Meltsner, and Connie. The story starts when a rock crashes through Eugene's bedroom window with an attached note demanding the return of something his parents allegedly stole. Eugene's parents are/were archaeologists who disappeared some years earlier while looking for the Inca treasure. Eugene, Whit and Connie investigate the note and uncover clues which lead them on an adventure.
When playing the game, the player takes the role of each of the games characters, Connie starts out by doing Internet searches; Whit performs an analysis of the note while Eugene solves puzzles found in his parent's possessions. when each of the three sets pf puzzles the trio meets up, compares notes and then they split up to do further investigations.
