What is MailTicker?

A small application that sits in your menu bar and checks POP3 accounts in regular intervals for new messages.

From the author:

The main motivation for me to write this was that Mail.app (as great as it is) sometimes cannot connect to my mail server and starts putting up error messages and jumping around in the Dock. I needed something small that at least has the option to turn off error messages, so this is what I came up with... 

This is the final version 0.5.2 of MailTicker.
