What is DesktopMagik?

StupidFish23.com has released DesktopMagik, a Mac OS X application that enables users to replace their desktop background with movies, Web sites and other content.

The software runs in Faceless Mode, so it doesn’t occupy the dock when it’s running — a status icon or customizable hot key enables you to open a preferences window to tell DesktopMagik how you’d like it to configure: You can specify image libraries, movies or Web pages you’d like to have running on your desktop, change background fill colors, configure reload intervals and more. DesktopMagik utilizes QuickTime application programming interfaces (APIs), so you can play back anything the QuickTime Player can handle, including Macromedia Flash files.
