What is RasterOps PhotoPro?

RasterOps PhotoPro is a specialized card for accelerating Adobe Photoshop filters and JPEG compression/decompression. It makes use of a 33 MHz LR3300MC RISC processor.

Information is difficult to find, probably due to the very specific use of the card and the fact that it originally cost somewhere in the $700-1000 US range.

A paragraph in MacWEEK (Vol. 7 No. 8) referred to the card as a "daughterboard" that could be used with RasterOps' 24STV card.

There are additional reference that suggest the card was designed for the Macintosh II series of computer.
