What is Ramadillo?

A free memory tracking tool for testers and programmers.

Ramadillo graphically and numerically displays the free RAM in the heap of another application and the system heap free memory. Memory is checked at a user-settable interval and the difference between intervals is displayed.

A flashing square shows when a sample was taken, and the actual time between samples is displayed. Ramadillo can help you discover memory “leaks,” or memory used but never released, and prevents attributing crashes or hangs due to low memory to the last sequence of steps executed.

The deltas let programmers easily see exactly how much memory an operation takes. The size difference may point to a particular structure or function causing the leak, thus perhaps reducing the time required to find the leak.
