What is Audio Interface?

A control panel which uses Apple's PlainTalk technology to speak the contents of menus and dialog boxes. By moving the mouse over menu items or dialog box items, you can have the name of that item read to you.

Compatibility notes

Audio Interface requires System 7.0 or later and the following files:

  • "Speech Manager" extension
  • "MacinTalk 2" extension
  • "MacinTalk2 Voices" file in a "Voices" folder in your "Extensions" folder

If you wish to use high quality "MacinTalk Pro" voices you also need:

  • "MacinTalk Pro" extension
  • At least 1 high quality voice in a "Voices" folder in your "Extensions" folder
