What is Boston Computer Society Disk Images?

The Boston Computer Society dissolved in 1996 (read article). The many shareware disks they produced are still of use to hobbyists and users of earlier Macs, however, so we are attempting to catalog them here.

These files can be downloaded with any computer, but in order to access the 400k disk images you must be running Mac OS 7.x or earlier. Disk Copy 4.2, or a similar utility, is required to mount the images, as well as a utility such as Stuffit to expand the files. To download the images, it may be necessary to hold down the option key while clicking. Those without an early Macintosh can try running the programs in vMac.
