What is Pixelogic ProViz?

ProViz from Pixelogic captures a single frame video image from an NTSC video source, such as a video camera or VTR, in 1/30 of a second. It can capture multiple frames and intervals ranging from one second to one minute. Digitized images are generated and displayed at a resolution of 640 x 480 in either 16 or 256 levels of gray. The unit connects to a Macintosh through its SCSI (Small Computer System Interface—pronounced scuzzy) port. A video source is connected to the unit by a video cable (a variety of connector adapters are available). ProViz outputs to the Mac’s SCSI port, so they can be saved to disk, through an NTSC video port for display on a monitor or recording to VTR, Images can subsequently be loaded into Macintosh animation packages such as MacroMind’s VideoWorks II.
