What is Hippo-C 1.1?

Hippo-C Level 1 offers a good basic learning environment for newcomers to the C programming language. The program’s limits and restrictions are severe and standalone applications cannot be created. A good place to begin the study of C. Has a useful print spooter desk accessory.

Hippo-C is the only (so far) C compiler for the Macintosh with a source- level debugger—or so its developers claim. Level 1 provides access to over 380 Toolbox and Quickdraw routines and features a compiler, editor, standard C library, on-line tutorial, debugger, linker, shell command processor, many sample programs, and over 200 pages of documentation ... Level 2 includes all Level 1 features plus an optimizing compiler, assembler, and full floating-point support.
