Once again, the Acme Detective Agency has assigned you the task of tracking Carmen Sandiego and her gang across the globe. This time the baddies have come into possession of a time machine that lets them make off with international treasures from the past. Acme has supplied you with the Chronoskimmer 325i, a time-travel device that whisks you to 48 locations over the span of 1,500 years.
As you travel from one location to another, you gather clues about a particular villain who has, for example, absconded with the bulls of Pamplona. By questioning informants and witnesses, you learn about the villain's physical attributes as well as his artistic and literary preferences, and you pick up clues that let you track him to the next location in time. If you correctly guess the thief's identity and trace him to his final destination before the timer runs out, a robot is dispatched to haul the scoundrel to the hoosegow and you can progress to the next case.
