What is PictFader?

What is it?

PictFader™ is an application/screen saver/multimedia utility that displays slide shows of PICT, JPEG (PICT in JPEG type), GIF, Quicktime Movie and MPEG Movie files. It has relatively low memory requirements considering the high standard of display that is achieved.  It can be customised to fade after a period of inactivity.   PictFader has many optional features and settings.  It is also capable of displaying pictures in 256 colours using the best colour set.

PictFader is distributed as a single Fat Binary application which runs on both 680x0 and PowerPC processor based (including G3 & G4) Macintoshes.  The minimum requirements are:

  • 68020 processor (A PowerPC processor is required for MPEGs)
  • System 7.1
  • Color QuickDraw
  • QuickTime 1.5 ( QuickTime 2.0 or greater preferable ) for JPEG pictures.
  • 350 to 800 K Ram and 650 K disk space
