What is Electric Dvorak?

No, the Dvorak keyboard was not invented by John C. Dvorak. It's actually a remapping of the common QWERTY keyboard layout that was designed to facilitate faster typing. Electric Dvorak is the best Dvorak i mplementation for the Mac. The basic program is an installer that puts the small (about 3K) resources in your System file.

Once that’s done (and it takes only seconds), you can toggle between the standard key mapping and the Dvorak arrangement by using a keyboard command equivalent.

The INITs provided set either keyboard arrangement as the startup default. The documentation, which is all electronic, is brief but excellent. A small chart of the key-caps layout is provided as well.

If you're already a Dvorak fan or are just learning touch-typing, Electric Dvorak is the best tool of its kind.
