AppleShare Print Server software lets you work at your computer while it prints your documents. The AppleShare print server offers these benefits:
- Supports both LaserWriter and ImageWriter printers. An AppleShare print server will print your documents to any AppleTalk-compatible LaserWriter or ImageWriter printer.
- Increases your productivity. AppleShare reduces idle time - the time your computer is tied up with the print request. You no longer have to wait for the printer to finish printing your document before you can use your computer for other work. And you no longer have to wait for someone else's document to finish printing before your print request is handled.
- Runs alone or with AppleShare file server. If you have the AppleShare File Server software on an Apple Macintosh Plus, SE, or II computer, you can install the AppleShare Print Server software on the same computer.
- Prints automatically. Your applications Print command is all you need to know to have AppleShare print your documents.
- Manages multiple printers. The AppleShare print server will control and manage printing to as many as five printers simultaneously.
- Allows print queue management. At the server, you can select a document to print next, delete a document from the queue, or suspend printing while you change printer paper.
- Recovers after power failures. Restart and recovery procedures ensure that all queued documents are printed when power is restored.
- Provides compatibility with all applications. AppleShare supports all standard applications. If for any reason a document cannot be spooled, the bypass feature allows it to be printed directly.
