What is dBASE Mac?

dBASE Mac was a database management  system for the Macintosh. Despite the dBASE name, it was not the same, or even compatible with, the extremely popular dBASE on the PC. While it was able to utilize the Macintosh user interface well, it was reportedly slow. Coupled with poor sales and the failure of dBASE IV on the PC, dBASE Mac was abandoned and sold off, where it would become nuBASE Mac.
