What is Macintosh Drag and Drop?

Allows applications to utilize drag-and-drop for improved UX.

Included in System 7.5 and beyond, these files let you utilize the feature on earlier versions of System 7.

Compatibility notes

Single-application dragging can be installed via the "Macintosh Drag and Drop" extension on System 7.0 - 7.1.1.

Multi-application dragging requires System 7 Pro (7.1.1) or can be added to System 7.1 via the "Dragging Enabler" extension.

File clipping can be installed via the "Clipping Extension" extension and requires System 7 Pro (7.1.1) or System 7.1 with Finder 7.1.3 (included in download).
