What is Boycott Advance?

BoycottAdvance/MacOS is a Gameboy Advance emulator for the Macintosh.

It can run most of the existing Gameboy Advance software to some degree, albeit slowly - a G4 is the realistic minimum system, and even then you will not get full speed all the time. The emulator supports full and accurate sound emulation - most games sound perfect, although a few suffer from a slight clicking noise. Boycott Advance is not a substitute for the real thing, however - if you want to play Gameboy Advance games, then buy a real Gameboy Advance. Additional video modes can be added to this emulator via my Blitter Library plugin.

Original Gameboy Advance cartridges can be backed up for use on Boycott Advance with the Flash Advance Linker, an inexpensive gadget from Lik Sang.

Boycott Advance was initially developed by Julien Frelat for MS-DOS, Windows, and Unix.

Compatibility notes

Version 0.2.3 requires CarbonLib 1.2 or later, or Mac OS X.
Starting with version 0.3.1, it requires Mac OS X 10.2 or later.
- Quartz Extreme compatible AGP graphics card recommended.
Starting with version 0.3.7, it requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
