What is SimCoupe?

SimCoupe emulates the original SAM Coupé 512K computer. It is also able to function as a Spectrum emulator because the hardware is very similar. Sound support is now included, using the SAA1099 core by Juergen Buchmueller and Manuel Abadia. As of v0.7.9v2, the emulator is Carbonized for MacOS X.

Compatibility notes

  • Version 0.7.9v2 requires CarbonLib 1.2 or later, or Mac OS X.
  • Version 0.7.9v3 requires Mac OS X 10.2 or later.
    • Quartz Extreme compatible AGP graphics card recommended.
  • Starting with version 0.8.0, it requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
