What is Wolfenstein 3D: Second Encounter? Wolfenstein 3D: Second Encounter (aka "Wolf 3D 2nd Encounter") is the "sequel" to the shareware demo Wolfenstein 3D: First Encounter, and the predecessor to Wolfenstein 3D: Third Encounter and the commercial edition. Second Encounter adds 27 additional levels, bringing the total number to 30 (compared to the only 3 levels found in First Encounter). The 30 levels included with Second Encounter were adapted from a selection of levels originating from the six original episodes of the PC-DOS edition of Wolfenstein 3D. Those episodes would later be released in their entirety as Wolfenstein 3D: Third Encounter.
