What is Fallen City?

Fallen City is an educational game that aims to teach children about the perks of keeping a city clean and sociable. The player controls a number of residents who need to be turned cheerful so they can work together to make the city better. The game contains six districts that need to be fixed and gradually new game elements are introduced. The residents, called angries, have access to different skills. They all have the sweep skill where they can use a broom to clean up dust and debris, and fix houses. There are three varieties of angries – red, blue and green – and some skills can only be used by a specific type. Red can use musical skills to wake up other angries, remove plants, and decorate buildings. Blue can dance, demolish and fix up structures. Green can chat, convince angries to leave blocked off areas, has a speed boost, and can make a cup of tea. To clear a district the different skills need to be used together.

Generally one large building needs to be fixed to complete a level. Getting a cleaning rate of 100% is not mandatory. Not all skills are available right away. Certain houses can be cleaned and are then used to create a new function where skills can be trained. Angries also need to be sent into the building to staff it. New skills are shown as a floating book with the colour of the angry to use it. By sweeping dust additional skill books can be discovered on the street along with a number of fashion items the angries can wear. The different angries can be selected and controlled through a grid on the right while the individual statistics are shown at the bottom of the screen.

All angries have a meter that shows how happy they are. When their tasks become tedious they either return to their original position or need to be cheered up by another angry. Certain larger angries in a purple colour can also drain morale quickly and need special skills such as a cup of tea to get rid off.
