What is Beached II?

This is the sequel to the very good game Beached released the year before by the same author.  The plot is the same as the first game: You are washed onto an island with 2 other players and you need to build a raft and get out of the island as quickly as possible, because a tornado is headed your way! Don't forget to sleep, eat and drink daily or you'll die.

Beached II is essentially the same game, but involves playing against 1 (or 2) computer AI and more granular mechanics, such as trading resources with other players and tools being required to gather resources, which makes this sequel very hard compared to the first game.  You see, in Beached II, you always start with only 2 tools out of the possible 3, which are a desalinator (to gather drinkable water), a saw (to gather wood to build the raft) and a rod (to fish).  You always miss one of the 3 tools in each game and you cannot acquire it during game play, so you will not be able to gather that one type of resource.  So, to win the game, you will have to trade with other players.  But the thing is that this mechanic seems to be a bit broken and computer AI will just take your stuff and don't give you anything or much in return.  You will still need those resources in order to complete the game, which is why Beached II is so hard to win.  The easiest route is to choose the saw and the desalinator, since you can find food in trees, so you don't really need to get fish with the rod.
