Astound WebMotion generates Java driven web page animations as Java .class files and even the full HTML code to embed them onto your web page. It lets you import any multimedia format that QuickTime 2.5 supports and can export and link each animation frame as a GIF file so that any web browser could play the animation correctly, which, at the time, was not always as trivial at it seems today.
Back then, there was indeed a lot of Java embeds in web pages allowing interactivity and real time animation. Nowadays with HTML5, Java and Flash technologies are no longer required to achieve animations and interactivity anymore, but back in the mid 90's, it was truely amazing to see this on a web page.
