What is ZBasic? ZBasic was one of the fastest BASIC compilers of its time, and generated very small code, compared to competition. It includes the compiler, a text editor, an extensive help system, and the ZMover Toolbox Editor. ZBasic 5 added support for a number of toolbox calls listed in Inside Macintosh Volume V. ZBasic versions for MS-DOS, Apple II, CP/M, and TRS-80 also existed. At some point in the 1990s, after the MS-DOS version had been purchased by another company, ZBasic became FutureBASIC.
