What is Spelunky?

aka Spelunky Classic

Spelunky is a non-linear platformer, where your goal is to penetrate deeper into the caves using ropes and bombs, gather treasure, and avoid traps and enemies. With fairly simple controls, a fully destructible environment, well-done graphics and randomly generated levels, Spelunky is a quick and easy roguelike to pick up and very hard to master. How far will you penetrate into the caves? Will you scour for every treasure, or avoid enemies and take the easy pickings? Will you save a lost maiden, or just save your own skin?
