What is Il Ladro di Merendine?

Il ladro di merendine is the third novel in the Commissar Montalbano mystery series by Andrea Camilleri and the second game to adapt the story into an interactive cartoon. The story in Italian is told through fully voiced drawn characters with some mini-games set between the many dialogues.

The story follows Montalbano as he tries to investigate three seemingly unconnected cases: the murder of an elderly merchant, the killing of a Tunisian sailor who was on board the Italian boat, and a case of a small foreigner child stealing other kids' school snacks.

The interface has been slightly modified and improved since the first game Il cane di terracotta, but the gameplay is exactly the same. The player listens to the dialogue and watches the animations while playing some mini-games in between (puzzles, tests, arcades, mini-adventures with some pixel hunting etc.) and often choosing a line for Montalbano to say, or phone number for him to call or a place to go.
