What is Löwenzahn 5: Geschichten aus Natur, Umwelt und Technik?

This is the fifth game in the Löwenzahn series of educational games for children, based on the German TV show Löwenzahn. Different mini-games with a focus on nature and technology are included and they aim to improve thinking and raise interest for nature and the environment.

This edition's topics include scents, senses involving the nose and the eye, snails, railways and wheels, dykes, inventions, and different kinds of herbs with presenter Peter Lustig's trailer as the starting point. The package is again a mix of informative videos and a full lexicon combined with mini-games. In one of these the player needs to help a fisherman to get back home through the Wadden Sea before the high tide, collecting mussels along the way. Other activities include assembling a musical instrument, a pinball game with gears (Zahnradflipper), a snail race and quizzes. The package also includes a physical scratch card with a quiz about smells. There are also recipes involving herbs such as caffeine-free dandelion coffee.

The game supports up to six players each with their own profile presented as a train carriage where the progress is shown. There is also a map of Germany with suggestions for weekend excursions for all the topics. The release has ties to a Löwenzahn website as well.
