What is Frontier 4? Frontier is a development environment that can be used to write scripts in either UserLand (its built-in language) or AppleScript. It includes an editor, debugger, and integrated object database. It supports scripting of Apple Events, so it can be used to control a wide range of applications. Frontier also provides a multi-threaded CGI scripting environment, and can be used behind Mac-based Web servers like WebSTAR. Frontier 4.2 includes MacBird, which is a UI designer for use with UserLand scripts. Trivia: Frontier 1.0 was the only system-level scripting environment available for the Macintosh... until Apple released AppleScript, which was not as powerful! Download Frontier 4 for Mac
