What is nShell-Pro?

nShell-Pro is a traditional shell for the Macintosh. While not as powerful as bash on a modern Linux distribution, it did offer a nice scripting environment. Some of its features include the ability to run up to twenty shells at a time, support for shell variables, wildcards, and I/O redirection. It also provides a multitasking envitonment with support for background operations.

There is a nice list of commands included. Example code (for CodeWarrior and THINK Pascal) were released so developers could develop additional commands. Development of nShell and nShell-Pro ended, and in 1995 the source code was released to the public.
