What is DubDub Scroll Bars? Mitch Crane's "DubDub Scroll Bars" is an AppleScript for Mac OS 8.5 through 9.2.x that activates/unlocks bi-directional scroll arrows at each end of each scroll bar; This feature could be set in the Appearance Manager in pre-release versions of Mac OS 8.5, but the syntax for it in the Appearance Manager's AppleScript dictionary has been removed, by order of Steve Jobs, who apparently weirdly thinks that bi-directional scroll arrows will somehow confuse users (Don Strickland wrote that you should first activate Smart Scrolling in the Control Panels: Appearance: Options panel, before double-clicking the AppleScript). Here is the actual wording of the "DubDub Scroll Bars" AppleScript: tell application "Appearance" To revert to the default scroll arrows style, just open Control Panels > Appearance > Options panel and click the smart scrolling checkbox.
