What is LibMotoSh (Shared Library)?

Libmoto is an extension library that replaces some of the default MathLib functions to optimize performance.  If the application you run uses functions in MathLib that are also present in LibMotoSh, then the application should run faster. It all depends upon how much these functions get used. Some graphics applications use these math functions when creating images or applying filters to your data.

Libmoto Macintosh Developer's and Windows NT version replaces the following standard C functions:

* cos
* pow
* exp
* sin
* log
* sqrt
* log10
* strcmp
* memcpy
* strlen
* memmove
* strncmp

Libmoto End-User's version replaces the following standard C functions:

* cos
* pow
* exp
* sin
* log
* sqrt
* log10

The memory and string functions have been hand tuned in PowerPC assembly language to yield the highest possible performance. The math functions contain some proprietary tables and algorithms.

Libmoto is available as static and shared libraries for the Mac OS, and as static libraries for Windows NT for PowerPC.

In order to use the libmoto shared library, drag it to your system folder.  Answer "yes" when asked if you want the extension placed in the system extensions folder. You should not have to reboot your computer to use the library.
