From Mac OS 1.0 up to Mac OS 5.0 Macintosh 512K or later Architecture: 68K Mac OS 1.x - Mac OS 5.x Lotus Jazz was originally coded to run on the Macintosh Plus (I think, I never had a Mac Plus). In 1987 Apple brought out the Mac SE and the Mac II. I had a Mac SE. The SE ROM differed from the Mac Plus ROM, and Lotus Jazz did not function 100% on the SE ROM (but Jazz worked for most operations). As a result Lotus produced a supplementary 3.5" diskette containing (from my memory) what was called the "Lotus Jazz Updater", that was probably also the name of the supplementary disk. Running the "Updater" patched the Jazz programme so that it would work 100% correctly with the SE ROM. Probably the SE ROM and Mac II ROM were comparable / same vintage, so similar considerations could apply vis-a-vis moodifying the original Jazz software to run on the Mac II.
