What is MagicMacX? MagiC!Mac is a Virtual Machine (VM) for running Atari ST programs on Macintosh computers. Version 1 ran on 68K, version also on PPC. It is not a full Atari ST emulator because it does not emulate the ST hardware. Instead, it runs a Mac-specific version of MagiC and NVDI, which are rewritten versions of Atari ST's TOS and graphics system (both are also available for native Atari hardware). Because of this, MagiC!Mac can only run Atari programs that do not directly access hardware but that rely on the provided OS functions to access the hardware. That means that most games would not run on MagiC!Mac, but "clean" programs such as Signum 3 will. Download MagicMacX for Mac
