What is iCab (Classic)?

iCab is a web broswer that supported older Macintosh hardware a bit longer than the better known alternatives. Version 2.99b would appear to be the most modern browser out of everything that will run on 68k Systems.

This is actually quite significant, as with enough memory (at least 16mb), it can slowly crawl around the Macintosh Repository and download files and games, making it a decent option for directly getting things onto an old Mac without burning CDs or splitting files over multiple floppies.

iCab is still available and you can download the new version for Intel and Apple Silicon on the official web page.

Version 2.99b is the last 68K version for System 7.5 to 8.1

Version 3.05 is the last PPC (Classic) version for Mac OS 8.5 to 9.2.2
