What is Flippers?

Flippers is very simple to play but should be difficult to master.

In Flippers, tiles slide to the center of the screen. You can flip tiles by clicking on them, once they stop moving. The tiles will flip in various ways, depending on which level you are on. You must learn how the tiles flip so that you can manipulate them.

The object of Flippers is to create 3x3 blocks of tiles which are similar. When you do, those blocks will disappear creating more space. Initially, the tiles will have only two sides, white and gray. If you can make a solid block of nine tiles (3x3) gray or white, they will be destroyed giving you points and more space.

You lose if the tiles build up past the edge of the screen. Anytime a tile is next to the edge of the screen, you are in danger of losing. If a tile tries to enter the screen at that point you will lose. The object is to keep destroying sets of tiles so that they never build up to the edge. The longer you survive, the more points you get. You gain points faster as the levels increase.

You can also play a practice mode. Select Practice from the File Menu. With practice mode on, you can select levels from the Levels Menu. In practice mode, the object is to get all of the tiles the same. Their are seven "formulas" to practice. By practicing these levels, you will do better on the actual game. If you have the timer on (Option Menu), you can get a high score for each practice level, if you do it in time. Or you can play with no time just to learn how the formula works.

In practice mode, each level will be scrambled before you begin play.
