What is OpenArena?

OpenArena is a free, open source and free 3D first person shooter. The first public version was released on August 19, 2005, the day after the id Tech 3 source code was released under GPLv2 and also on the last day of Quake Expo 2005. The game is derived from Quake III Arena, by which retains the general characteristics: the software is therefore a completely free and free alternative to the famous first person shooter of id Software, maintaining a gaming experience very similar to the original.
