What is Leonardo IDE? The Leonardo IDE is a programming environment that is useful for learning the ANSI C language, testing algorithms, and creating animations and demos. It has both an ANSI C compiler and a compiler for the ALPHA visualization language. Leonardo IDE utilizes a virtual CPU for executing compiled code. This environment also includes a text editor (based on WASTE) with syntax highlighting and a simple graph editor. Leonardo IDE is not capable of creating stand-alone 68K/PPC applications. After discontinuing work on Leonardo IDE, he began work on The Leonardo Computing Environment (LCE). It was to be available for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X, but it is uncertain if it was ever completed. Source code for the project was available via CVS. Download Leonardo IDE for Mac
