What is Timbuktu Pro 6.0.3 (OS9) & 5.2.4 (OS8)?

Timbuktu Pro is absolutely the best remote control or VNC-like suite for PPC Macs. It offered seamless integration between Windows and Macs allowing file exchanges on all drives, an email-like message system with file attachments, a VOIP-like intercom feature allowing conversations with the distant computers users, an IP scanner to instantaneously find all Timbuktu clients on LAN, an address book and of course, it allowed for complete visual remote control of the distant computer, even from a Mac to a Windows PC or vice versa.

It could also allow guest sessions, password-protected accounts with different access rights and invitations or "ask for permission" for any remote action. It also logged the history of everything in files for future lookups, which was great for unattended remote control sessions analysis.

At the time of writing this, Timbukutu Pro 6 was still useful almost 15 years after its release and a 17 years old G3 iMac with Timbukutu Pro could still remote control and exchange files with an actual distant Windows 7 64-bits PC effortlessly.
