CronOTask is a utility for Macintosh server which allows to select files from disk and specify when they are automatically launched by Cronotask. Everything on the Hard Disk can be selected and launched (CronoTask uses Apple Events to launch items) Selecting applications, documents, AppleScript applets, the server administrator is able to automatize totally a lot of tasks, executing them when the server is unattended. CronoTask is a full, true Mac application. It doesn't use extensions, control panels, background only applications, hidden files, setting folders with several files to setup, complicate code to learn ... and so on. CronoTask is a simple application which uses a true Mac interface, with true System 8 & 9 controls and which needs to run just the (obiouvsly) application itself and one or more (if you like to use more then one) documents file.
In any document file you can setup (only using the mouse, only using the amazing Mac OS native controls introduced with System 8) how many tasks you like to launch. You can specify the time to launch choosing to use a daily plan, a weekly plan, a monthly plan or even a yearly plan.
The environment is totally modeless, you can setup all the tasks in the document window. When the task are viewed in the 'list' view in just one shot you can see how many tasks you have inside a document and when they are launched, and in any moment you can zoom in a single task editing it. We spent a lot of time to ensure the interface of CronoTask where a true Mac interface and now we are pleased with the result ! CronoTask runs in background (or in foreground as you prefer, it's a normal standard application!) of your server and execute all the schedule silently.
