What is SerialSpeed 230?

SerialSpeed 230 works with the Geoport enhanced serial ports of most PowerPC computers and Quadra and Centris 660AV and 840AV computers to boost serial port speed up to 230 Kbps. The port speed determines the rate at which the computer and modem communicate. A fast port speed is especially beneficial when used with a high-speed modem that has hardware compression. This control panel by Brookline Software requires a V.34 or V.FC modem and application software that is normally used at 57.6 Kbps.
