What is The Way Things Work?

Cute drawings and cuddly woolly mammoths don’t always cut it now that kids expect a big bang for every buck. David Macauley’s clever drawings and simple descriptions of inventions, inventors, and the principles of science that brifig it all together taste terribly bland to kids who are used to educational offerings sweetened with cartoons, games, and animated adventures. Aithough packed with information, this dish lacks the crucial spice that keeps kids begging for seconds.
