What is MacPAR Deluxe?

From the built-in Help

MacPAR deLuxe is a utility program that can be useful to you if you upload and download binary files to and from Internet newsgroups.

It's main functions are:

  • Ensure error-free transport of the data by means of so called "par" or "par2" files;
  • Unpack data from a RAR archive (most of the files in newsgroups are compressed with rar);
  • Automatically start an external program (such as Stuffit Expander) to process downloaded files.
